Marlene Spalten joined the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay as its President and CEO in October 2012. With an objective of significantly increasing philanthropy in the region, she was listed on Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “25 People to Watch in 2013”. Since its inception in 1990, CFTB has distributed $200 million in grants while building assets to almost $215 million through community leadership, philanthropic services, and creative grantmaking. Marlene serves on the Boards of the Florida Philanthropic Network, the Florida College Access Network, and Community Foundations of Florida. She is a peer reviewer for the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations Accreditation Program.

Kory Burkley joined the Foundation in 2017. He previously was Director of Finance for IMA World Health and a Senior Financial Analyst for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. 

Kory has a BS in Finance from Creighton University and an MBA from the University of Denver.

Beverley McLain has been with the Community Foundation for 13 years serving in a variety of roles from communications to marketing to planned giving. Currently working with our community of professional advisors, Beverley brings her years of experience to bear to ensure that advisors know the value of working through the Foundation with their charitable clients. She has a BA in Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Matt Spence joined the Foundation in 2016. He was previously the Director of Planning and Development for the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County and Special Projects Manager at the Juvenile Welfare Board. Matt earned a Master’s Degree in Education Policy and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Florida State University. He also holds a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Texas.

Molly James joined the Foundation in 2014, working with donors to develop strategies to meet their giving goals. She previously was director of development at the Salvador Dali Museum and the Tampa Museum of Art. A long-time community volunteer, Molly has a BA in psychology from Emory University.

Wilma Norton joined the Foundation in 2014. She was a journalist at the St. Petersburg Times (now the Tampa Bay Times) for more than 20 years. Most recently, she was assistant director of public information at St. Petersburg College. Wilma has a BA in journalism and political science from Western Kentucky University and an MBA from Florida International University.
