Our Commitment to Good Stewardship

The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay (CFTB) staff and its Board of Trustees take the responsibility of managing your philanthropic dollars very seriously.

Our dedicated staff maintains high standards of stewardship by managing resources
to maximize your philanthropic contributions and actively avoiding excessive compensation and unreasonable or unnecessary expenses.  Our efforts have been recognized by Charity Navigator, a nonprofit watchdog group that rates charitable organizations nationwide based on their fiscal management record.  CFTB has achieved a 4-star rating by Charity Navigator several years in a row and ranked number five nationally among nonprofits in administrative efficiency. Charity Navigator also noted that the CFTB is "tops in
. . .  respecting the rights of donors," a reference to our privacy policy which protects the confidentiality and security of donor information.

Additionally, we
  •
follow generally accepted accounting principles;
  • are transparent in our actions and our reporting;
  • undergo an annual audit by an independent third party CPA firm;
  • seek diversity and inclusiveness in our grant making to reflect the changing
       complexion of the community we serve.
