Donor Stories | G. Robert & Sharon Blanchard Bob and Sharon Blanchard are long-time Tampa residents who have quietly worked to build major nonprofits in the Tampa Bay area. Bob served as chairman of the YMCA and is proud that the "Y" is serving all areas of the community "from the yuppies to inner city people." The University of Tampa is another institution that has struggled and grown strong, thanks to nurturing from good people like the Blanchards. Bob and Sharon help nonprofits by making their ranch available for fund raising projects. For example, each year they assemble over sixty friends who spend the day picking 3,500 bags of oranges to benefit the food program at the Salvation Army.
Because of their deep commitment to many organizations in the community and their desire to "give back", Bob and Sharon are leaving their legacy to the community through the G. Robert and Sharon Blanchard Fund in the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay.
You, too, can count on the Community Foundation to turn your caring into commitment. We make it easy to be a philanthropist, now and for generations to come. Establish your fund to benefit any field you choose or help one or more nonprofits flourish because of grants from your fund.
The Community Foundation is a partner in the Leave A Legacy program and invites you to leave your legacy to the Tampa Bay community. To find out how you can start your fund at the Foundation or to get more information, call 813.282.1975.
