Suzie
and Grover Wrenn transferred their private foundation into the Community
Foundation of Tampa Bay to gain increased efficiency of operations
and to more closely connect with their new home.
The lower administrative expenses and efficiency of operations of the Donor Advised Fund interested Grover who was looking for a more economical alternative for the administration of the Wrenn Family Foundation. Suzie said, "This is our home now. It is appealing to do our giving through the locally-oriented Community Foundation. It helps us have roots in our community."
In 1998
the Wrenns moved from Alexandria, Virginia to St. Petersburg where
they are active supporters of Eckerd College, The Florida Orchestra,
and their local church. Grover was a member of the founding Freshman
Class of Florida Presbyterian College, now Eckerd College. He joined
the Board of Trustees in 1990 and was the first alumni to chair the
board. Suzie grew up in a talented family that had a love for classical
music and emphasized the importance of music education. She serves
as a Trustee of The Florida Orchestra and chairs the Operations Committee.
