Tampa Bay area is #3 in Charity Navigator study of nonprofit financial practices
The annual study looked at financial management, accountability and transparency practices by nonprofits in 30 metro areas across the country. To move from #27 last year to #3 this year is a strong indication of the strength of our local nonprofit leadership.
We take pride that the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay has helped develop strong nonprofit leaders with our support for programs such as:
The CFTB Nonprofit CEO Leadership Program, now in its sixth year, an intensive year-long professional development program for 20 CEOs annually
The CFTB Nonprofit Governance Initiative, which sent eight local nonprofit trustees to Harvard Business School’s “Governing for Nonprofit Excellence” program in 2015 and will send nine more this year
The Nonprofit Leadership Center, which has a vast array of training and networking offerings for both leaders and employees of local organizations
The Community Foundation and many of our partner organizations were among the 72 Tampa Bay area nonprofit organizations Charity Navigator reviewed in the study.
