Congress approves IRA Charitable Rollover
Congress today approved a law reinstating the IRA Charitable Rollover, and the President signed it this afternoon. The law allows those who are at least 70½ to make direct gifts of up to $100,000 a year to a nonprofit from an IRA.
The law is retroactive to December 31, 2014. Obviously, time is short, so we wanted you to know about this as soon as possible.
Here are two ways we can help you gift your IRA rollover to support your favorite nonprofit organizations.
As the year winds down, we also want to offer a few helpful reminders regarding ways you can give through the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay:
Contribute to the Foundation’s Community Impact Fund, which is directed to meet the areas of greatest need in our region, or to an existing fund or endowment. (For your convenience, you can make donations online to the Community Impact Fund or to more than 200 funds and endowments.)
Create a new fund, including a donor advised fun, a family foundation or a community endowment.
Donate appreciated publicly traded stocks to avoid capital gains on the appreciation.
Thank you for your trust in us! We are grateful for the opportunity to work with you and appreciate the investments you make in our community. Please give us a call at 813 609-4857 if we can answer any questions or assist in any way.
