Elizabeth Fowler Named Philanthropist of the Year!
Our community recently celebrated National Philanthropy Day, an event the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay is proud to sponsor. Hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon celebrates a volunteer of the year, a junior philanthropist of the year, a small and large philanthropic business and a civic group demonstrating philanthropic leadership and they are all truly inspiring honorees.
The grand finale is Philanthropist of the Year and this year’s recipient, someone I’m proud to call a friend, is Elizabeth Fowler.
Elizabeth is the model philanthropist in that she doesn’t just write a check; she gets in the weeds with the organizations she supports, ensuring best business practices, involvement from other supporters and partners and long-term sustainability.
Her intelligent and humble leadership deserves celebration and it was fun to be part of the standing ovation she received. Two organizations she and her husband Troy have helped launch, Frameworks of Tampa Bay and Positive Coaching Alliance, have new endowment funds at the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, thanks to the generosity of the Triad Foundation (Elizabeth’s family foundation).
I congratulate Elizabeth on her well-deserved honor and thank her for her philanthropic leadership!
