The Community Foundation of Hernando County is the newest division of the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, having been formed in December 2006.
A skilled, enthusiastic group of local leaders took the initiative with the vision of building a better community for all of Hernando County, from Hernando Beach to the Withlacoochee River.
Through the work of its volunteer Council and grants committee, this division is working for the betterment of all Hernando County residents, changing lives now and leaving a legacy for the grandchildren to come. The Foundation welcomes donors who wish to consolidate their philanthropy or who need a place to make their charitable contribution while deciding which causes to support.
You are invited to join this group of dedicated and dynamic citizens. Make a difference during these times of exciting growth and diverse needs.
Challenge Grant for Local Nonprofits The Community Foundation of
Hernando County is pleased to
announce the creation of a new
challenge grant program open to all
qualifying nonprofits in the county
interested in establishing an
endowment fund at the Foundation.
Through the
civic concern and generosity of two
local Hernando County residents,
Mary and Bob Sierra and their Sierra
Foundation, a matching grant program
is being established. This very
generous 2:1 match means that for
every $1000 raised by a qualifying
nonprofit, the Sierras’ challenge
grant will match it with $500.

challenge grant program.
