Tampa/Hillsborough Co. among new 20 areas included in Lumina Foundation’s Community Partnership for Attainment Initiative
Lumina Foundation recently announced the final 20 cities in its 75-city community-based attainment network, including Tampa/Hillsborough County. This work is designed to help communities and regions dramatically increase the number of local residents with postsecondary credentials.
Five Florida regions were chosen to participate: Orlando, Jacsonville, Southwest Florida, Tampa and Miami. The overall effort connects to Goal 2025, Lumina’s national goal to increase the percentage of Americans with high-quality degrees, certificates, and other credentials to 60 percent by the year 2025.
The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay is the lead organization of the Hillsborough College Access Network, in partnership with the Florida College Access Network, Hillsborough County Schools, Hillsborough Community College, University of South Florida, City of Tampa, Hillsborough County, Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Helios Education Foundation and Bank of America.
