Welcome to our new website
We are thrilled to roll out our new Community Foundation of Tampa Bay website, which we hope you find engaging, informative and easy to use. Among the innovations: For the first time, visitors to our site can donate online to a number of funds that support and strengthen our community.
The website is just one of the new ways we are using technology to make giving easier and to help you be better informed.
Our new donor login area gives current donors the ability to manage their donations and grant-making in the same way many of us manage our other accounts.
And you will find a link to Connecting Tampa Bay, a community platform we are developing in partnership with the Urban Institute. There, you can search for information about the more than 5,000 nonprofits in our four-county area. The nonprofits also can use the site to share information about their needs.
It is still evolving, but we are excited at the potential Connecting Tampa Bay has to help join organizations, donors and volunteers to each other.
The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay also has added a number of new faces in recent months.
• Dan Jurman joined us in October as Vice President, Community Impact. He previously was Executive Director & CEO of the University Area Community Development Corporation (UACDC), which promotes community and economic development in the severely impoverished community near the University of South Florida. Dan will lead the Foundation’s grant efforts and work closely with nonprofits to develop and fund innovative solutions to community issues.
• Molly James came on board this summer as Senior Director, Philanthropy, working with donors to develop strategies to meet their giving goals. She previously was director of development at the Salvador Dali Museum and the Tampa Museum of Art.
• Wilma Norton arrived in June as Director, Marketing and Communications. She was a reporter and editor at the St. Petersburg Times for many years before joining St. Petersburg College as assistant director of marketing and public information. She spearheaded the redesign of the website.
• Carly Meek also joined us in June as Director, Information Services. She previously was marketing manager at the Dali Museum and development director at the Florida Humanities Council. Carly was the point person for the donor portal and many other database and technology projects.
Please contact me or any member of the team if you have questions or suggestions.
I’m proud of our team – the new members and the veterans – and of the work we are doing with our donors and the community to make a meaningful, lasting impact on the Tampa Bay area through philanthropy.
