Marlene Spalten joined the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay as its President and CEO in October 2012. She was previously the Executive Director of the Baptist Health Foundation and a Vice President of Baptist Health, Jacksonville’s largest community-owned hospital group.  

Previously, Marlene was Associate Head of School/Advancement and Planning at The Bolles School in Jacksonville. She is a graduate of Cornell College with a BA in English.  Marlene is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and a Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (FAHP).

George Hardy joined the Foundation during 2010 following a career in public accounting.  A native of the Tampa Bay area, a graduate of Stetson University (DeLand, FL), George has been a CPA for more than 40 years.

Beverley McLain has been with the Community Foundation for ten years serving in a variety of roles from communications to marketing to planned giving. Currently working with our community of professional advisors, Beverley brings her years of experience to bear to ensure that advisors know the value of working through the Foundation with their charitable clients. She has a BA in Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Matt Spence joined the Foundation in 2016. He was previously the Director of Planning and Development for the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County and Special Projects Manager at the Juvenile Welfare Board. Matt earned a Master’s Degree in Education Policy and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Florida State University. He also holds a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Texas.

Molly James joined the Foundation in 2014, working with donors to develop strategies to meet their giving goals. She previously was director of development at the Salvador Dali Museum and the Tampa Museum of Art. A long-time community volunteer, Molly has a BA in psychology from Emory University.

Wilma Norton joined the Foundation in 2014. She was a journalist at the St. Petersburg Times (now the Tampa Bay Times) for more than 20 years. Most recently, she was assistant director of public information at St. Petersburg College. Wilma has a BA in journalism and political science from Western Kentucky University and an MBA from Florida International University.
