COMPETITIVE GRANTS

We award grants throughout the year through a competitive process. These grants, administered by our Grants Committee and our regional councils, support creative and innovative ideas that we believe will have a lasting impact on our community.

Competitive grants proposals in areas of special interest to the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay may receive priority for funding. However, we continue to be interested in all ideas that can assist us in our mission of building a better community.

Grants are awarded on a schedule throughout the year, based on targeted focus areas:

  • Education: We know that academic opportunities prepare people of all ages for higher education and employment. Grants will be awarded to organizations that support effective educational programs that help our communities continue to grow and better prepare our workforce for the future.
  • Arts and Culture: We believe that thriving arts and cultural activities are a key component to vibrant and strong communities. Grants will be awarded to organizations that provide access to and stimulate an appreciation of our community’s artistic and cultural life.
  • Health and Human Services: We know that a healthy community is strengthened by a shared belief in helping our neighbors in need. Grants will be awarded to organizations that promote wellness and/or benefit to those suffering from poverty, discrimination and violence.
  • Environmental Restoration and/or Animal Welfare: We believe it is important to invest in efforts to preserve, protect and enhance the natural environment and the wellbeing of animals. Grants will be awarded to organizations that improve the quality of our environment and/or benefit our animal community.
  • Innovation: We know that there are many creative solutions to community issues. Throughout the year, grants will be awarded to organizations for innovative programs or solutions that anticipate community needs on vital issues.
