Pasco giving circle passes $100,000 in donations
Since 2009, The Premier 1000 of Pasco fund has donated $102,200 to Pasco nonprofits, including the Good Samaritan Health Clinic, CARES, The Volunteer Way, the Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired and Blind, the Red Apple Adult Training Center, Fostering Hope Florida, and most recently, to Friends of Animal Services.
The philanthropy group's members invest in their community together. It is the first giving circle affiliated with the Foundation's Nature Coast Council. Members make a greater impact by pooling their charitable donations. They focus their effort on smaller nonprofits that rely heavily on volunteers. Each member of the Premier 1000 donates $1,000 a year.
The members meet socially throughout the year to decide on a focus and grant recommendations. They would like to grow to make more of an impact to improve the Pasco community and welcome new members.
Members’ tax-deductible donations are placed in The Premier 1000 of Pasco fund at the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and are professionally managed until the group decides on a new grant recommendation.
