In memory of Mark O. Howerton

This fund will provide grants to support healthy communities and their institutions in Greater St. Petersburg. Created in memory of Mark O. Howerton, 63, who believed in the transformative impact of community on individuals’ lives, including his own. Mark died Oct. 4, 2023, after battling Stage 4 kidney cancer for nearly 5 years, a fight made palatable by the communities who supported him and his family.
