Protecting Tampa Bay: Annual Competitive Grants Advancing Environmental Sustainability

Community Foundation Tampa Bay awarded over $2.2 million through the 2025 Competitive Grants Process. This funding will support 84 impactful nonprofit projects across the Tampa Bay region.

Protecting Tampa Bay: Annual Competitive Grants Advancing Environmental Sustainability

Environmental challenges are among the most urgent issues facing the Tampa Bay region—from extreme weather events to habitat deterioration and infrastructure stress. As part of our commitment to support a more sustainable future, Community Foundation Tampa Bay is proud to have awarded over $353,000 in funding to support Environmental Resiliency and Sustainability initiatives in our 2025 Competitive Grants cycle.  

These investments targeted local, actionable efforts that strengthen our region’s capacity to withstand environmental stressors while promoting education, conservation, and community engagement.

Competitive Grants Cycle Grantees: Environmental Resiliency and Sustainability

We proudly supported 10 organizations that are implementing impactful projects across Tampa Bay. Here are a few highlights:

Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, Inc.

  • Project: Disaster Resiliency and Preparedness for Greater Tampa Bay Families
  • Award: $50,000  
  • Summary: Helping families prepare for hurricanes and other disasters through home preparedness education, especially in underserved communities across Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas.

Keep Pinellas Beautiful, Inc.

  • Project: Resilient Roots Tree Planting Initiative
  • Award: $28,750
  • Summary: Focusing on hurricane recovery through strategic tree planting to restore the tree canopy, enhance biodiversity, and provide long-term environmental benefits.

Pathfinder Outdoor Education, Inc.

  • Project: Experiential Learning for Students in South St. Pete
  • Award: $30,400
  • Summary: Pathfinder partners with local organizations to deliver outdoor science enrichment and experiential learning for 100 Title I students in South St. Pete, enhancing their academic, social, and environmental skills.

    These 10 grants reflect a shared regional commitment to preserving natural resources, enhancing climate resilience, and inspiring environmental leadership—from young students to entire neighborhoods.

    By investing in projects that are rooted in community knowledge and driven by practical action, we are proud to support organizations laying the groundwork for a healthier and more sustainable Tampa Bay.
