Helping South Asian Survivors of Domestic Violence in Tampa Bay One Survivor at a Time
Services
Indians and other South Asians facing domestic violence have unique cultural and linguistic challenges. HFSS was started to fill this gap in the Tampa Bay area.
Helpline
A phone call or a request for help through the website in a non emergency situation is the first point of contact (in an emergency please call 911). HFSS will provide immediate help with basic needs, referral to state agencies for child care, baby needs and other essential services.
Economic empowerment
Qualified volunteers will assess your educational background and work experience and make recommendations. When possible, volunteers will help you prepare a resume and help with job placement.
Outreach
HFSS conducts seminars to educate the South Asian community about services and bringing awareness about domestic violence in the South Asian community.
Counseling Services
HFSS partners with community organizations for free/low cost as well as private counselors based on financial ability.
