We are pleased to announce that the Mary Petro Food and Medicine Fund moved to the campus of the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center on May 2. The office had been located at the United Community Church for 8 years. The Mary Petro Fund, under the auspices of the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay’s South Shore Council, provides food and medicine assistance to qualifying legal full-time residents of Sun City Center and King’s Point.
Mary Petro, a former resident of Sun City Center, left a donation to the Community Foundation for this purpose at her death in 2009. Judy Maynard is the new Director of the fund, replacing Don Hinderliter who is retiring after four years as the Fund’s director.
