Foundations

A foundation within Community Foundation Tampa Bay can look just like a private foundation, offering the same benefits and prestige but with fewer costs and administrative burdens for you, your family, or your beneficiaries. You can even brand and promote your foundation in the same way as a private foundation. Our Philanthropy Team provides foundations at Community Foundation Tampa Bay with assistance in facilitating family meetings, research on nonprofits, and customized grant reports. With a starting contribution of $100,000, you can establish your foundation—then you, your family, or your business can focus on the joys of giving while we take care of the behind-the-scenes details.

Corporate Philanthropy

Partnering with Community Foundation Tampa Bay for your company’s philanthropic investments is a simple and strategic way to maximize your impact in the communities you serve. With our expertise and resources, we can customize a suite of services to assist with establishing or enhancing your company’s giving program whether giving locally or nationally.

Benefits and Services of a Corporate Advised Fund

Personalized Services
Our Philanthropy Team serves as your liaison to the nonprofit community. We support your company with annual philanthropy planning meetings, goal setting, and information on local needs and opportunities to guide your giving strategy.
Ease
You contribute to your fund when and how you choose while claiming the maximum tax benefits allowed by law at the time of contribution. Your fund allows you to carry out your philanthropy with greater flexibility and less time commitment.
Hassle-Free Administration and Grantmaking
Our online grantmaking portal makes giving quick and efficient. We handle all administrative tasks, including IRS reporting, accounting, record-keeping, and compliance. After verifying each nonprofit’s IRS status, we process and send your grants with a customized letter.
Control Over Your Fund
You can choose how our professional managers invest your philanthropic assets on your behalf—for the short, intermediate, or long term. You may also choose for  your own investment advisor to manage the assets through our Individually Managed Charitable Accounts program.
Flexible Asset Investment
You can open or add to your Corporate Advised Fund with cash, appreciated stocks, retirement account assets, real estate, cryptocurrency, life insurance, business interests, and other complex assets.
Cost-Effectiveness
Our administrative fees are significantly lower than those associated with a private foundation. All fees to the Community Foundation are reinvested in our philanthropic work in the greater Tampa Bay community.

Customizing Corporate Advised Funds

Customized Grantmaking Cycle
In addition to granting directly from your fund to organizations of your choosing, you can create your own grant application process, inviting nonprofits impacting areas important to you to apply for your grant funds.  Our customizable system allows you to build a request for proposals from the nonprofit community. Then, you can easily track your philanthropic investments.
Branding and Recognition
You have full control over the branding and promotion of your Corporate Advised Fund through Community Foundation Tampa Bay. As with a private foundation, you can customize the logo, stationery, website, and more.  If you choose, your fund can accept online contributions via Community Foundation Tampa Bay’s website.
