In memory of Richard Allen Nash
Richard Allen Nash (RAN), also known as Rick, had a desire to live, lead, and coach with great impact. A dedicated businessman and family man to the core, Rick exuded what a team player stands for; always ready, willing and able to support and encourage – no matter what lies ahead. Whether Rick was in the position of conglomerate CEO, coaching high school lacrosse or inspiring his twelve grandchildren, the qualities of leadership and motivation were always forefront. Energized by his tenaciousness, Rick’s loved ones will now continue his fight to bring us closer to finding a cure for the deadly and boundary-less cancer, sarcoma. The RAN Foundation is dedicated to keeping Rick’s focused and integrous spirit alive through the collaboration of the community. As the ultimate team built in Rick’s honor, The RAN Foundation has a mission to raise money for sarcoma research and spread awareness for early detection of this devastating disease.
From an early age, Rick’s passion to lead was developed on the playing field. As a standout athlete playing collegiate lacrosse and football, Rick was not only a critical asset to his team, but thrived in developing off-field influential skills. Bringing people together through his determination and nose-to-the-grindstone attitude rolled right into his professional life. He spent the majority of his career acquiring and managing a valuable real estate portfolio while creating enduring relationships with his colleagues and professional counterparts. Rick’s ambition to mentor led him to be heavily involved in community sports; coaching young athletes, all the while juggling an exceptional career. Never losing sight of his most important role, Rick was the key teacher and protector of his family; forever emphasizing the importance of hardwork, humility, and honesty to his pack of children and grandchildren who endearingly called him Papu. Everything Coach Nash, or Rick, did was with purpose and through that he left a lasting impression on those that he shared life with. This legacy continues through his family and friends that will honor Rick’s fierce drive and dedication towards the RAN Foundation.
Sincerely,
—RAN’s loving family
