Walter C. Jaap Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2021

Walter Jaap touched the lives of so many people through his career, his volunteer environmental efforts, his church, and in his community. As we seek to celebrate his life, we asked ourselves, what tribute could we make that would reach into and beyond the various communities through which Walt walked? One of Walt’s passions that crossed all of those boundaries was life-long learning and mentoring those in the next generations. Once we had named that, we knew that the best way we could honor Walt’s memory was through the establishment of an endowed memorial scholarship that will benefit students studying the sciences.
