$2.8 million goes to 123 Hillsborough nonprofits through the county's Nonprofit Safety Net Program

Hillsborough County’s  Nonprofit Safety Net Program for organizations that have stepped up to serve the community in impactful ways during the pandemic has awarded more than $2.8 million to 123 nonprofits.

The financial support went to nonprofit agencies physically located in Hillsborough County that are actively providing critical services to citizens of Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa, Plant City or Temple Terrace that are impacted by COVID-19.

The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay partnered with the county to administer the disbursement of the awards of $15,000 or $30,000, based on criteria provided by the county.

The Nonprofit Safety Net Program launched on October 9 and concluded November 25.

The funding provided financial assistance to nonprofit agencies with revenues greater than $100,000 in Hillsborough County affected by COVID-19 for facility, operations, and working capital costs. The funding is part of a financial assistance program and does not need to be paid back.
